BirdsEye Nature Apps Help Desk

What's the difference between "Nearby Birds" vs "Browse All Birds" in BirdsEye? These are new menu items.

BirdsEye Birdfinding app homescreen
Nearby Birds: Birds that have been seen in your area

You may have noticed that there are some changes to the BirdsEye home screen in the last update. "Browse Birds" has changed to "Nearby Birds".  Gone is the All tab that perviously listed all species included in the app. It has been replaced with a Nearby tab, showing species that have been historically (based on last 5 years of eBird data) reported in the area. You can adjust the distance range using the filter icon in the upper right.

Browse All Species: A list of all the world's species

A new feature is "Browse All Species", a listing of all the birds in the world. Here you can quickly access any species in the world and see what content is available for each. Highlighted icons along the right side of the screen show the availabilty of photos, sounds, and descriptive text for each bird. The next release of BirdsEye will include convenient filters to view just the birds in a specific region or package. [Note: If you want to see just the birds that you've purchased, go to the "Bird Guide Store" and select any purchased package.]

"Here you can quickly access any species in the world ..." Quickly? How?

There is a search function at the top of the window. You can enter a full or partial name, or the four-letter abbreviation to find a bird. In the iPhone version of BirdsEye you can also filter the list by the region your are interested in.

Superb website you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics discussed in this article? I’d really like to be a part of community where I can get advice from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Bless you!
